Have done so.

That's exactly the case, I am having probs with kikbd (International
Keyboard) and its csy.kimap. Also various other KDE apps interprete
kbd settings differently.

I am on RH6.1
Well, I am almost giving up on kikbd, I will try using standard Linux
/usr/lib/kbd/keymaps, plus some of my own.
