Okay folks, are you ready to start translating? We are starting the
translation process for our next release - it will work pretty much the
same way as the last time around. For information and help about the whole
process you can mail i18n na redhat.com and you will be replied back with
instructions.

Here is the basic instructions about how to deal with this process:

To get a mail catalog out of the I18N processor, you will have to send a
mail to i18n na redhat.com with a subject line containing the name of the
project file you want to translate. Valid project names, along with their
descriptions, follow:

        - Xconfigurator : this is the Red Hat XFree86 config program
        - authconfig : authentication config tool
        - chkconfig : a tool for manipulating the symlinks in /etc/rc.d
        - kbdconfig : keyboard configuration tool
        - mouseconfig : mouse configuration tool
        - install : Red Hat install program
        - sndconfig : sound config tool
        - timeconfig : time zone config tool
        - specs : a message catalog containing all text from the
                          packages included in the distribution.
        - powertools : a message catalog containing all text from the
                          packages included in the PowerTools.

For example, to get the message catalog for the Red Hat install program,
one will have to send a mail with the subject "install" to i18n na redhat.com
(mail -s "install" i18n na redhat.com < /dev/null).

Once you send the request you will be replied back with the message
catalog. Save it in a separate file (like install.pot) and proceed
translating it. You can commit your work to the I18N processor by sending
back to i18n na redhat.com the result of your work (again, the same rule
applies to the subject line). If you are a registered user the system will
figure out that you are sending a translation, it will attempt to merge
your changes into the message catalog for the language you are a
registered translator for, and mail back the resulting catalog. You might
review, change it again, and repeat the operation until you are happy with
what the system is sending back you.

It is of crucial importance that you obey the following rules when working
with the system:

1. Do NOT send the file as an attachment, uuencoded, compressed or
otherwise altered. Send it as a plain text message.

2. Do NOT include any comments or signatures in your message. The body of
the message should be the message catalog and nothing more. The catalog
merge will fail if you add automatically a signature to every message you
   send. So trim that signature.

3. The system figures for what language you are a translator for from your
mail address. Be sure to send your mail from the same address that you
   registered in the first place.

4. Finally, if this system is causing you problems you can't/don't want to
deal with, mail your message catalog to gafton na redhat.com. Do not expect
from me the same responsiveness that these scripts provide, though.

Preklady kratsich katalogu (s vyjimkou specs (1468 zprav) a powertools (906
zprav)) jsem uz zaslal, zminene dva katalogy sam tezko prelozim. Pokud se
chce nekdo zapojit, muze si o ne vyse popsanym postupem napsat, pokud bude
vice zajemcu, bude potreba je nejak zkoordinovat, aby kazdy prekladal jiny
kus. Jednotlive kusy je mozne dat dohromady pomoci

msgmerge stary novy > nejnovejsi

poradi formatovacich parametru %s, %d apod.. Po prekladu se soubor pomoci

msgfmt -c --statistics -v soubor -o soubor.mo

prevede do binarniho tvaru a otestuje, jestli tam nejsou chyby. A pak uz je
mozne jej zaslat na i18n na redhat.com.

Doufam, ze dva lide (nebo vice) pres vikend neprelozi (nezkoriguje) kazdy
prvni pulku specs...

                                                         S pozdravem
