Napoveda k redhatackemu ntsysv rika:
The portmapper manages RPC connections, which are used by protocols such
as NFS and NIS. The portmap server must be running on machines which act
as servers for protocols which make use of the RPC mechanism.

Pohled na muj port 111 rika, ze tam posloucha proces portmapper a pohled
do /etc/services rika:
sunrpc          111/tcp         portmapper      # RPC 4.0 portmapper TCP
sunrpc          111/udp         portmapper      # RPC 4.0 portmapper UDP

Takze bych rekl, ze pokud nepouzivate NIS nebo NFS, muzete portmapper
vypnout.
