Rozlišení se nastavuje v souboru /etc/X11/XF86Config (doporučuji
man XF86Config). Hledejte:
Section "Screen"
	Subsection "Display"
		Modes

O to se stará Window Manager. Těch existuje spousta, nevíme jaký
používáte.
