ANNOUNCE: Universal Window Embedder MotherWindows-1.0b1

     Invitation to the universal window embedder,
                  MotherWindows.

MotherWindows is a desktop organizer capable of embedding
multiple foreign applications in pages of tabbed notebooks
or pages that are simply stacked on paned windows. It has
broad and minute run-time control of color, shape, font,
and various other properties of its components.

It also has session management capability to record and
restore any number of named sessions. Each session record
contains structural information of paned windows and tabbed
notebooks, commands to invoke embedded applications, as well
as color-shape-font settings of various components. 

Although it is an X Window application designed to work
under a window manager, MotherWindows itself may be called
a quasi window manager, since it controls the size, state
of mapping, and invocation/termination of foreign
applications embedded in it.

If you are short on screen space or you are troubled by
cluttered screens with too many overlapping windows, or
if you want to try new widowing system, please try our
first public beta of MotherWindows.
