Ruska tiskova kancelar Computerra dnes vydala zpravu, ze se Linus
Torvalds prestehuje do Moskvy, aby vyvijel port Linuxu na procesoru
E2k firmy Elbrus International. V ruskem clanku nazvanem "Bliz k Otci"
Computerra rika, ze Linuse vedly k prestehovani do Ruska mezi jinymi
tyto faktory: "Zajimavejsi a slibnejsi prace", blizkost ke svemu otci,
ktery pracuje jako korespondent finskeho radia a televize v Moskve,
a take pocasi, na ktere je vice zvykly, podobne klimatu v Linusove
vlasti, Finsku (v LA pravdepodobne neni dost snehu ...).
Agentura cituje budouciho nadrizeneho, profesora Borise Babayana:
"Velke profesionalni kvality Torvaldse pomuzou vytvorit kvalitni OS
pro procesor E2K, kompatibilni s Linuxem, v kratkem case".

	Internet Operating System Counter dnes zveřejnil další
průzkum zastoupení jednotlivých operačních systémů v internetových
serverech. Autoři systému zjišťovali typ operačního systému na
více než 1.4 miliónu strojů se jmény začínajícími ftp., www. a news..
Z tohoto měření vyplynulo, že Linux běží na 31.3% serverů,
což je 2.4% narůst oproti lednu tohoto roku. Na druhém místě
jsou dohromady všechny varianty Windows (95/98/NT) - 24.3%,
0.1% pokles oproti lednu t.r., na třetím místě je Solaris/SunOS
(16.7%, 1% pokles) a na čtvrtém open source varianty BSD (FreeBSD,
NetBSD a OpenBSD) - 14.6%, 0.4% pokles.
