i can't connect to the network

hello,

my network configuration:

2 computer runing win98 : hostname : loucs (ip:1.2.3.4) , family:
(ip:1.2.3.6)
    workgroup: "home"
    I can see those 2 computer on the network ; ping 1.2.3.4 , 1.2.3.6 OK

1 computer runingLinux redhat 7.0:
       I configurated the interface : eth0 1.2.3.5  255.255.255.0 (hostname:
sentenza) driver : rtl8139
        Hosts file :  127.0.0.1  localhost.localdomain   localhost
                              1.2.3.5     sentenza
                              1.2.3.4     loucs

when I run "ifconfig eth0", I retrieve the configuration of eth0 : 1.2.3.5
broadcast:1.2.3.255 netmask:255.255.255.0

when I ping on1.2.3.5 and 127.0.0.1, I have good answer
when I ping on 1.2.3.4 : 1 message appear :  "connect: Le r?seau
n'est pas accessible"

when I do "route" : destination    passerelle    genmask indic    metric
ref    use    iface
                               127.0.0.0        *            255.0.0.0    U
0           0       0     lo

when I do "route add 1.2.3.4 eth0", I have te message: "SIOCADDRT: Le
r?seau ne fonctionne pas."
