       -nodaemon
              Specifies ``false'' as the value for  the  Display­
              Manager.daemonMode  resource.   This suppresses the
              normal daemon behavior, which is for xdm  to  close
              all  file descriptors, disassociate itself from the
              controlling terminal, and put itself in  the  back­
              ground when it first starts up.
