Taky si nekdo stezoval na problemy s instalaci MDK 8.0 na radic Adaptec,
takze tohle je reseni, ktery problem odstrani.

(I send this mail to you because you submitted some problems with Adaptec
driver and Linux-Mandrake 8.0, on Cooker ML or on Bugzilla)


The aic7xxx problem is related to recent upgrade of firmware from Adaptec
and in default aic7xxx driver. Your card won't be handled correctly unless
you upgrade your firmware from the Adaptec website. (unfortunately with
some cards you can't upgrade firmware). Please read for details:

If you still have problems with installing LM-8.0 with your Adaptec SCSI
adapter, e.g. you haven't upgraded your firmware, I propose that you may
test the following patched boot diskette we just wrote. It will install
the aic7xxx_old driver at very beginning of install, and hopefully will
allow you to perform a successful install of LM-8.0.

with that boot diskette (preferably than resend to everyone in the To:
flooding their mailbox), so we can officially publish it if it works
nicely or try to find another solution if not.
