[Fedora TeX Live] Fedora and Tex Live 2011 installer from tug.org

Hello, has anyone used the Tex Live installer from tug.org to install in Fedora?

What are the advantages and disadvantages of this method?

Is there a recommended set of directories and defaults to use that
will allow maximum compatibility with the Fedora packages?

What complications will arise in installing any fedora packages that
use tex packages?

I am raising this question because:
(1) It seems TexLive post-2007 repository is not supported for Fedora
13 any longer and this is causing yum updates to fail on the hardware
that Fedora has abandoned support for.
(2) It seems TexLive post-2007 is not yet integrated in Fedora 15 and
this suggests the same problem will reoccur once Fedora 15 EOLs.
