Something somewhat similar happens to me with the pair LyX + okular.
I configured the lyx client to perform forward/reverse search with the commands:
okular --unique "file:$$o#src:$$n $$t" (in lyx)
lyxclient -g %f %l (in okular)
as instructed in lyx's user guide. Both forward/reverse searches work, but in different
instances (windows) of okular. It's manageable, but the ideal would be only one instance
of okular.
Would that be a question for okular/kde forums as well?
