Mojca, thank you very much to bring this discussion, and to Jindrich for
his feedback. This is extremely informative from my modest point of
view. I am an end user (possibly the only one along the list), and I
had some hard time to understand the difference between the Fedora &
CTAN Texlive packages, ever since I begun to use LyX, and got intrigued
by LaTeX.

You will forgive a novice question along this discussion; I am in the
process of learning LaTeX now, and it would be a worry less, if I could
focus on the features, and not have to worry about the package, or it's
dependencies.

I already encountered some dependencies problems with the Jindrich
package (I now understand why, at the light of this discussion) and I
did not manage too well a manual install of the CTAN Texlive either (to
my dismay).

So, in short: Will there be a stable F-Texlive version 201n, to replace
the 2007 version I am currently using. And how do I know that's the
one? Is it going to be distribution number related (e.g. Fedrora 17 or
18) or package number (eg. Texlive 2012-final)?

Thanks again.
